Fuel Filler Cap

Hi,

Just tried to top of fuel and the flap won't open. I push and it should pop out and it doesn't. I don't want to force it is there any other way of opening the filler flap.

I have done a search, and there is a post about removing the black surround but that would only appear to work if the flap is already open.

It's a 2014 Leon SE (5dr)

You've not locked the car before trying the flap have you

When mine was starting to go. I'd push the flap, it wouldn't open so I'd press the unlock button in my keys then it'd spring open.

All I can suggest is just keep trying the unlock button and it will hopefully work once to get it open. At this point you can then remove the inner surround to unplug the actuator until you get a new part.

I'm not sure how your open it without damaging anything, the flap will need pulled upwards and outwards at the same time I'd guess.

I work for Seat and we have replaced a few actuators for this problem.

As said just try locking/unlocking the car a few times and then trying to open it....
