Hi Can anyone help I have 2003 Cupra 4 Motion V6. When I fill up the tank the Fuel Gauge does not read full is there a way to check this before taking to the dealer?
Thanks

Firstly, let me say that if you EVER sell your car, PLEASE put it on here as I can guarantee there would be several people very interested in a 4 motion (including me)!! :D

As for the fuel gauge, do you have an onboard fuel computer? When you fill up does it register 300+ mile range, and as you drive does the range drop appropriately? I don't know whether the fuel computer works off a different sender, but at least it may prove whether the gauge is poorly or not.

Hi,

Yes the computer is saying around 300 and looking at the guage that is about right as I can get around 500 KM on a tank. what do you think the sender in the tank is at fualt. can you get to this our is it a dealer job.

It depends on what you would describe as a dealer job. At worst it will be a case of dropping the tank and getting to the sender, although I don't know what the propshaft will do in terms of getting in the way?

Pretty sure you can get at the sender by the panel under the rear bench - not much has changed on the V6 to 'normal'

Bit of a bugger of a job, but DIY'able. Do it on an empty tank though - a full tank of fuel sloshing about when you're arm deep in it is not ideal
