Hi
Can anyone tell me how the fuel range comes down in 5s in cupra formentor .
And the fuel range is miles out compared to the trip computer
Ranges meter said 310 miles when filled up .
Now travels 210 miles with fuel rang saying 50 miles left
Approx 50 miles a difference

When you first fill up it gives a range based on the last average mpg just before you filled up.
As you drive - the system recalculates based on how you are currently driving.

Do you know why the fuel range comes down inn 5s ..instead of 1..not as if I am travelling 5 miles and it comes down..might travel less than a miles and the range drops 5 miles

Same answer, the range is an estimation with (if you keep driving in exactly the same way in exactly the same conditions) a reasonable chance you might do it. Set it to the exact mile and you’ll get people saying ‘it didn’t do the 334 miles it said it would, so they make it clear it’s an estimate by making it deliberately inaccurate.

Try driving the hybrid, the petrol range is utter nonsense due to the miles done in electric and with hybrid assistence. ?

Just a guess but I guess it takes 5 miles to observe your driving style and recalculate the range
