Full Link constant disconnections

Hi All,

I have a 2019 Leon Cupra 290 DSG with the Lux pack. I found the Full Link connection to my Samsung S10 to be an amazing bit of kit and used it all the time but it started disconnecting constantly and has got progressively worse to a point it hardly ever connects and if it does it loses the connection within seconds.

I've tried a couple of different cables and tried both USB ports but I'm guessing there is a dodgy connection somewhere in the USB cabling, does anyone else have this issue and would it be sorted under warranty?

Thanks

Take it you have gone through the usual different cable, different phone ect and narrowed it down to something between the USB port and the head unit? If so might be something to get the dealer to check out.

Downgrade android auto to an older version until they fix the bugs in current version.

I've got this but not as bad. I'm using a p30 pro and I've tried a mate 20 pro as well but no luck. Tried different cables but from searching online my phone's nasty schedular seems to be killing android auto even though I disabled optimisations for it in the phone's battery. After about 5 times it's fine maybe Hauwei's schedular gives up.

Just a thought to check your android auto app isn't being killed by battery saver optimisation stuff

Mine has been stable on my P20 Pro and in the last few months my P30 Pro. It seems very cable sensitive, I'm using U Green cables from aliexpress and they seem consistent.
I haven't tried it since the last AA update, so fingers crossed for tonights road trip.
The OP could try a head unit reset, and clearing the B/T and AA caches on his phone.

Mine has stopped letting me make phone calls via voice control. For example "ok Google phone John Doe" Response is "ok let me gather that information for you" then does nothing.

An update for all of you guys. OP this may help you. So I got a sewing pin and I scraped all the dust and dirt out of my charging port (“fluff”). SO much came out. I mean loads. You. Won’t believe how much. This is just general day to day use build up. I then went out in my car, plugged in the phone and no problems. Connected perfectly and stayed connected. Give it a try!

I'd be careful cleaning the port with a pin. I nearly stuffed up my radar detector doing that. An aerosol air duster is much safer.
Maybe an aerosol is safer true lol. However had no problems with my past 3 iPhones using pins/ cocktail sticks touch wood :bleh:

So I have managed to get it working most of the time now by trying a third and much shorter cable! Seems to be very sensitive to the cable in use.

It still disconnects if I hit a large bump of get judder from wheel spin but it generally reconnects straight away again!

I've have a cable attached to the USB port since the car was new so that probably avoided dust and fluff buildup

So glad it's working again, the dictating of WhatsApp messages is a godsend and voice control of spotify is really useful to stop the "Keep your eyes on the road" message delaying things!

I've found that clearing the cache for the android auto app often helps when I'm having issues with it, once you've found a cable that works anyway. I reckon I have to clear the cache about once a month as I start getting frequent disconnects or even won't connect at all.

It's more likely fluff in the connection on your phone. I haven't had that problem on my current phone (yet) but on previous iPhone there was lots of fluff in the lightning port which caused problems connecting to car. This was with a dock on mk2 but it's the same issue.

Seem to be having issues with mine now (Android Auto). Mostly happens when changing songs, whether it's hit the end of one or I skip it. Whole infotainment system seems to crash and restart. Any ideas on what's happening?

Going to try a different cable on the way home tonight & clear AA data, see if it makes any difference.

Pretty sure it’s a “fluffy” issue guys! Incredible how much fluff gets into a charging port!
