Looking at it now i've fitted mine, you could quite simply use some large washers, a nut, and the ball ended bolt linked on a previous page. If nobody beats me to it i'll take a picture of mine on the car after work

I emailed him last week and have not had an answer as yet? Does anyone have a pic of the brackets needed?

The brackets consist of 4 identical rectangular bits of steel plate which off the top of my head are each ~50mm x ~20mm x ~1.5mm thick, and each have an 8mm hole in the middle. Two of the plates then have an M8 nut tack welded over the hole. So you have 2 plates with nuts on and 2 plates without.

Fairly easy to fabricate or improvise using another method as Dan mentioned but for £5 delivered it didn't seem worth the effort which is why I ended up just buying some already made ones. However, if Nik isn't responding to emails or is just getting sick of so many requests then I would just try and make something up yourself.

If Dan doesn't get round to posting up some pictures of the brackets himself later on, I'll post some over the weekend.

I think Bansky used washers instead of the plates. I'm sure it is do-able in other ways but for £5 its a no brainer really.

Shame Nik seems to have gone quiet lately though.

I've seen it used with washer, but someone was saying they bent the bonnet and came out. Personally I'd avoid the washers method.

Fairly sure anyone with a welder could make you the brackets, it's pretty simple, just a nut spot welded on.

Pics of the brackets and where they fit would be great, hopefully someone else may be able to make these up, they sound simple enough.

Would it work if the plate itself had a threaded hole rather than a nut welded onto the back of it?

For £5 it wasn't worth the hassle, but if you can't get them anymore, then a washer would work. The only issue would be if you get washers that are too big or not strong/thick enough to support the stress of closing the bonnet strut.

Not sure a threaded plate would be any good as the plates are quite thin, too thin to get a good grip on a bolt so would need some sort of nut on the back, be it captive or not.

As for the plates above, they 'look' ok, but would need to check measurements, but you woould only need 2 with captive nuts, you would still need two without

Just taken a few pics. Excuse the dirt in the bay, needs a good detail.

Bottom plate (The other plate is underneath)

Top plate (The other one is fed into the gap on the bonnet)

One of the strut (slightly out of focus)
