So today i thought the car needed a clean, plus im trying to get rid of all the diamondbrite valeting stuff that came with my last car. Cleaned the car with autoglym shampoo twice and im trying to use up the daft Diamondbrite conserver.

while cleaning i noticed what appeared to be dead bugs in the rear boot mounted clusters! :D doesnt bother me that much but it should just be a couple of bolts to release it off the boot and give em a good shake out correct?

While im at it what do people think of diamondbrite in general? personally i thought it was a rip off on my last car. but ive not had to buy cleaning stuff for nearly 10 years as i barely used the cleaning pack! :D

I've had Diamondbrite on 2 of my cars (Cupra being one) and Autoglym Lifeshine on 3, plus one lease car that I didn't have any paint treatment on for obvious reasons. Both products have noticeably improved the paintwork over the 2-3 years I've owned each car, and I really noticed the difference on the car that wasn't treated - took ages to get it clean (bugs and bird poop stuck like glue!!) and didn't hold its shine at all long after cleaning. My Cupra is nearly 3 years old now and apart from the bleedin' stone chips, the paintwork is still as shiny as the day I got it. Like you I have a garage full of product now and every now and then will use the Autoglym polish followed by the extra polish stuff to really buff it up but generally just use the Diamondbrite shampoo and preserver as it brings it up like new.

They applied Diamondbrite to my Cupra ( didn't even ask me) and they did a crappy job. The detailer I use did his pre-wash on my car and it all came away. You can get much much better products for a lot less money.

I've never had a car detailed before (only discovered it by joining this forum really) but whatever I get next time round will be getting done as it seems to be a much more thorough process and more trustworthy if your experience is anything to go by...

Yeah I'd never bothered before either but the car looks mint now.. The beading is next level and whatever he's put on the windows is magical. it was pouring down on the M5 yesterday and above 50MPH I don't even need my wipers, the water rolls off in sheets.

Since detailing I've spent £200+ on various cloths and shampoo's and prewash and everything. Going to turn it into a proper hobby to keep my Cupra looking sharp.

I think on my last car a MK2 focus the job they did with the diamondbrite was rubbish. my bonnet was in a right state after a few years. in fact im not even sure it was painted right in the first place.

with regards to your windscreen i think that could be rainX or a similar product. its bloody magical stuff. a bit too mesmerising at times!

Perkman its interesting to hear a positive slant on the dimaondbrite. I can appreciate that if its done right in the first place and kept up then its maybe not such a bad thing. My leon never had the treatment or any equivalent to my knowledge but if i just use the conserver i have it should make my life easier!

My Mrs's car a red 11 plate Corsa was done with PureGuard from new and it came with 6 year guarantee. Seeing as the car is over six years old I thought I would give it a proper clean.

Snow foam, two buckets, clay bar, Meguiars compound (by hand using waffle pad) then AG Super resin Polish with another waffle pad and finally re-applied the left over PureGuard stage two then buffed. Looking almost like brand new again. For the last six years it has always been washed by hand and then waxed with Showroom shine
