gearbox help please

hi there i had some trouble with my gears and was told that it was my peddle box. i have now replaced the peddle box and sill having trouble with 1st and 3rd gear but the others are ok. does anyone think changing the clutch cable would help or do i need a new gearbox?

1st + 3rd are both at the front - have you tried setting/adjusting the gear link cables ?

tried to looks like its a self adjusting one. was a pig to get the old cable back on the the gearbox just couldnt figure out how to adjust it out any ideas?
