Gearbox Problem

Hi,

I know this is a seat ibiza forum and the car this relates to is a 51 plate polo but the running gear is the same.

A friend of mine has a polo automatic and when they go to drive off the engine almost jumps out of the bonnet lol. It would nacker the engine mounts for sure if you attempted to drive it.

Anyone got any clues?

If it's as the drive is taken up I would say torque converter fault, clutch mechanism fault or transition fluid level/leak

Well I'd check two things first: the engine mounts, and the auto transmission fluid level.

Not sure if they do an automatic Ibiza ?

They do/did, it's a 1.4

Wouldn't a 51 plate polo be equivalent to a mk3 ibiza anyway?
