Im looking into lowering my LCR soon. I was gonna go all out for a decent set of Coilovers but have decided to go for some springs for now so I can get a feel of the ride change as it is my daily driver and I dont want to fork out £££ for something that I cant get on with. I understand all the technicalities around suspension but what would people advise changing when I change the springs? Should I renew drop links/bushes etc? Anything to keep the ride good I want to do there and then. Also what springs would people recommend? Dont want to go much lower than 40/50mm so any help is appreciated. Pics would also be great :)

im running pi lowering springs. my car is a much harder ride but my god it corners really well. no body roll at all. i must admit i really hate pot holes now :( back breaking, i do try to avoid them. mine is only lowered 20mm front and back. they have been fitted over a year now with no problems

spax ssx 30mm drops LCR 20mm all round, retail app £100, some pics in my readers ride, click link

ride is still comfortable

i went for the weitec gt kit (shocks and springs) which lowered the car 20mm which isnt the lowest kit but it still scrapes here and there so id be careful with anything lower. when i got mine done i had the tracking and camber sorted, front wishbone bushes replaced and front topmounts. Ride feels good and very close to that of the original kit.

Yeh I was also considering Shocks and springs rather than just springs. How much did the top mounts set you back?

yeah dampers will probably past there best at 60-80k. the top mounts for an LCR are about £20 each and are not the same as the cupra/std versions which are much cheaper.

heres mine with 20mm drop. i still catch in car parks ect. also there are so many speed bumps where i live, going lower isnt possible for me so im happy how my car is :)

Ive only got this pic atm (not the best sorry)
