Generic OBD-II Functionality

Have just been reading these pages:

Which refer to the Generic OBD-II Functionality, and that it should still be considered "beta".

Was just wondering what experiences have been had using this on different makes (ie non-VAG) ?
Also - what kind of data can it get out, mainly just fault codes or does the realtime graphing etc work on other makes too ?

Am getting quite tempted to upgrade to a HEX-USB-CAN interface; I know what it can do on VAG cars but if it can do a half decent job on other makes than that'll probably swing it. Especially if it'll work on the other half's Ford Focus (2000 1.8)

Fault codes and the logging works fine on my CANBUS ST.

Bit of a PITA to get the things to talk to each other to begin with though, but I suspect that was my laptop rather than anything else.

My idea to try and recoup some of the vag-com purchase cost is to offer my services to work colleagues for a small donation in return.

Obviously this will be more successful if it'll work with more than just VAG cars.
