Im currently on the lookout for a good deal on a FR, used, and I was wondering if anyone has any good tips for squeezing a good deal out of the dealer. The dealer I spoke to today said they don't have much room for maneuver on used car prices. Is this true?
It was a 06 FR with 16,000 on the clock going for £11,295. Do you reckon he could go much lower?
Any general tips appreciated.

If you go on a generic website (autotrader for example) and have a countrywide search for cars that fit inot this bracket you will probably find an array of prices, the cheapest ones are probably "priced to sell" which means you'll be lucky to get more than a couple of hundred quid off and rock bottom px. Top prices often mean better px and bigger "discounts", swings and roundabouts, can always try "we buy any car" for an idea of what you might get IF you have one to get rid of.

Well thats the advise from my local Hyundai franchise owner (he's a customer of mine).

I am doing a part ex. I have an 08 skoda fabia 1.6. i had the shock of my life. the car is just over a year old and was bought new by me for £10,200. They told me they would need to clarify the price with Skoda but their computer said they could give me £6500 for it! I was offered £7500 two months ago by a VW dealer. It's immaculate with Lifeshine and 7000 miles. If they can't do any better I think I'll hang on to it and wait til it dies. Jeez.

I brought my TDI FR last october on a 07 plate with only 8k on the clock, and paid 10k for it. I px a 307 54 plate and gave me 3k. I just looked around all dealers till a good offer came up and travelled from nottingham to Gatwick to collect it. I have had the car now nearly a year, and I wouldn't change it for the world.
Good luck in finding a good deal mate :)

I've literally just bought an 09 Leon 2.0 diesel FR....it was an ex demo car and had 6k on the clock, so for a 6 month old car that's pretty high obv...it was up for £18,500 but they offerd it to me for £17,300 straight away as obviously they wanted shot what with the new plates coming out etc...

i had an 06 astra sporthatch to trade against it...they offered me £7,500 for it so i bit there hand off as it was only worth about £6,800....newer ex demo cars are your best bet for a good deal, or wait about another week and then get in as everyone who's bought a 59 plate will have traded there's in by now!

Check www.parkers.co.uk see how much your car is worth on PX, and what sort of money the leon should be priced at. These are just recomanded prices. But normally a good ball park to go by
