Dropped my Cupra tdi in at P-torque yesterday for the hybrid treatment, cant wait to get it back.
The car was good as it was with tunit box and decat so i will be interested to know the before power run. The clutch was fine before the mods but started to slip with the box and decat so the clutch is getting upgraded aswell.
Also i would like to point out that it is this site thats got me interested in this, so its your fault I'm eating beans on toast for the rest of the year to pay for it :)
I will update you all on how i get on.
Would anyone care to guess how much power Will will get out the car?

You lucky, skint (probably!), happy, excited, pensive, fortunate, genius, lairy, jammy, smug git!!

I'm very envious and really keen to see how it all goes and hear/read how the car feels. Great big write-up required and cost breakdown!!

Really hope it all goes well mate.

What other mods have you done to suspension/brakes etc ?

The car is standard other than the mods stated. The car comes with big AP racing calipers

and i don't think i would want the suspension any harder.

I've not pushed the car hard enough yet on the road to find its limits but I hope to push it

harder at the Nurburgring at the end of April.

A group of us are having a road trip to the ring and i want to give some M3s a bloody nose

:D.

Be good to hear the out come of the install!

Bit of advice thou, I would seriously invest into a suspension upgrade and Tyres upgrade at least!

ATB Diff if you had the spare cash, but its not cheap but worth it considering your going to be trying to get 225bhp and 360lbs of torque onto the tarmac in two front wheels? Especially if you dont change your suspension?

The Eibach proline setup isn't especially harsh - my Mrs hasn't moaned about it once and she is "sensitive" to such things! It does have a really good effect on handling though and is worth the cash.
For the sort of power you are looking for (and for your 'ring day) you should seek some advice from those who know much more than me about these things though.

If i was to be going on such runs as the "ring" i'm sure alot of member including ye' old and wise Rudd would say coilovers are the best thing.
The Ring + standard shocks + Hybird turbo = Big insurance bill and a trailer home too me!

That without looking into ARB's, Struts upper and lower, tyre brand/type and size.
Also the differential and engine mounts giving into the extra power.
Plus your need to look at downpipes, CAT and possible manifold inlet and outlet to help the power out to a smoother curve.
Also i would suggest uprated pipe work such as SFS kit, to hold the extra boost and for your to delete the coding for the EGR valve in the custom mapping, to not to recirculate any oil around the system and risk it leaking thou to the new hybird.

The suspension upgrades are well worthwhile, if you dont do them, just be a bit more cautious, bumps are not particularly great for the standard setup during fast cornering

Nor are mid corner camber changes as I witnessed 2nd hand going around the M1 to M25 interchange following a mk4 ibiza.

Antirollbar kit front and back and maybe a disc / pad upgrade ..... as a bare minimum

Thanks for all the advice, will look into it when i get the car back.

The clutch is now fitted and the turbo has been sent off for hybrid work so should have

some more progress for you next week

Its running 230bhp and 320lb/ft now, it had 185bhp and 250 lb/ft. The power feels very smooth now,

smoother than before and is very strong at higher revs. It had 160bhp standard so if that is like a

mapped 130 the difference is massive. Very similar for 1-2k rpm but much stronger at above that. The

clutch is heavier and bites nearer the bottom but other than that the car feels like you would expect a

fast sports car would be from the factory.

Yes I would also be interested in how much it cost - I have justb had mine remapped at jabbasport - now running 195bhp and about 290lbs torque. would be interested if it is worth the extra money - I work in Hull so am not far from you.
