Well since i've guzzled a few tanks of V-power over easter I thought I'd take this one a little easier now i'm back in work. I managed to get 49mpg on the 40mile trip home from work. Thats part of Manchester, the M62 then through Liverpool. So plenty of different driving situations.

Nearly 5k on the motor now and its certainly getting better! Used to really struggle to get over 42mpg, now I can manage that pretty easily even at 70mph.

So these little TSI's do work well. They are bloody thirsty when you give it some though :D

That is sounding proper good Mardon. So it looks like I may see some good figures driving to Prague and back in August then.

I still average 35mpg even at 8k, personally I think you should have bought a diesel ;)

get around 35mpg but its starting to get higher, my mrs reports she gets about 38-39mpg when shes borrowing it, and it still has less than 2k on the clock

haha, yeh my parents allowed me to drive their audi tt, once just for a bit... dad was in car... he thinks that i will be spending £140 a month on petrol haha :D good stuff! Ah Mk2_cupra, you will soon calm down with the lead foot... hopefully! haha.

Yeah mine is not great, its just when I make an effort I know I can get it nice and high. Normal driving see's 35/36mpg which isn't too bad. Can get it very low when I want though :D

I managed to get 40mpg from Manchester to Edinburgh on saturday and that included the fantastic A701 that runs from Moffat to Edinburgh what a road :) only used one tank and a bit all weekend (came back home on sunday) well impressed and its only done 1,300 miles
