I’ve sold my Formentor vz2 245 hybrid. After having a recall for 2 software upgrades taking 6 hours I have lost confidence in the future reliability. I also was disappointed with limited mileage on hybrid charge. I can’t fault the build quality and comfort and the look of the car.
I gone old school with replacement car it’s a 2018 Jaguar f type P300 with 3000 miles which I believe is one of the best looking on the road.

Interesting that you are swapping a hybrid crossover for a 2 seat coupe. Lovely looking car but unfortunately 2 seat coupes are not in the cards for me as I need a family car.

My previous car to the Formentor was a BMW 140 I 3 door so I was use to the fast lane so with the F type I am back there.
I know people say the four cylinder doesn’t sound as good as the v6 or v8 how ever in dynamic mode with the exhaust open in my opinion it sounds good especially after the Formentor imitation noises in Cupra mode.

I am trying to sell my car too. It hasn't been a month since I bought Formentor VZ E-Hybrid, but I am unhappy with it.

My problems are
- It doesn't have Full Link. Even though Cupra itself told me it has it as standard (I provided VIN to them) and it was also written in Cupra pages, Cupra service told me that my car doesn't have it. After that I talked with Cupra again and they are saying they are not sure. I went to another Cupra service and they told me that they spoke with Cupra and this issue is happening on many models and Cupra has no idea how to fix it, and I should wait 3-4 months for another update.

- Speed is limited to 223 km/h. My old GLA 250 had less PS (211), but max speed was much higher and not limited like this Formentor VZ.

- Navigation is useless. It rarely recognizes correct places via voice command.

- Changing songs is laggy. I have to wait 3-4 seconds when my phone is connected via BT or when it uses my phone's wifi

- Integrated eSIM data packages are overpriced. They are asking 72 Euro for 25 GB.

- Connecting my phone's hotspot never works. I have to disable and reopen my hotspot, and many times I have to restart my phone to make this car see my hotspot. Other devices have no issues with my phone (iPhone 13 Pro Max)

- Parking sensors are not showing correct distance. When it goes full red, I see there is around 20-30 cm space between the wall and my car.

- Sensors are not working while driving. For example, when I want to get out from my parking spot in the garage, and there is another car parked in front of my, car is not showing any distance alarms. I had that in my old GLA

- No tyre pressure gauges. I want to see what my tyre pressure level is, but it is not possible with this car. Again, it was possible with my GLA.

- ACC is not recognizing traffic signs properly. If there are two traffic signs for specific time, and there is another one after that, car is choosing the slowest one. For example, there is one 60 / 80 sign after 22:00 (60 for long vehicles, 80 for cars) and 120 for cars between 06:00 and 22:00. Car is saying speed limit is 60 and pushes the breaks. It is not a good thing when driving in the motorway. Same goes city driving. It sometimes removes the speed limit and going for 130 in 50 zone or ignores 60 sign and lowers to 50 for no logical reason.

- It is not possible to upgrade driving assistance from L to XL after the manufacture.

- It is not possible to install wireless connectivity kit after the manufacture.

I talked with several dealers but they are giving me 5-6k less than my buying price, which shows this car's value is dropping heavily, and I sold my GLA after one year for the same price which I paid before.

Top speed was known - I'm surprised you are listing that as a problem.

Not sure what doesn't work, for me it seems to work.

You would have remained in the fast lane if you got the 310

Not sure what doesn't work, for me it seems to work.

For the speed limitation, I thought it was only reference on the website. In website it is written 210 km/h, but it can push to 223 km/h. I can unlock it from a tuning company, but Cupra service told me it will void my warranty. Considering we have no speed in our motorways, I see no point limiting the car's top speed and promoting this car as a sports car. If I wanted to drive a slow car, I would have bought a VW Polo or Fiat 500.

For parking sensors, of course it should go red before hitting something, but full red should be 5-10 cm, not 20-30 cm (maybe even more). Again, in my old GLA 250, if it was full red then I could see there is only few cm left between my car and the wall.

Depends how you look at it... the definition of a sports car is "A car designed with an emphasis on dynamic performance, such as handling, acceleration, top speed, or thrill of driving" - I think the Formentor ticks a couple of those boxes!

Unless it would be considered more of a "Performance Car"? Which is "A car that exhibits above-average capabilities in one or more of the following areas: acceleration, top speed, cornering and braking. It is debated how much performance is required to move classification from standard to high" I mean, if they consider a Golf GTI a performance car, then this definitely falls into that category.

Branding has got very little to do with whether a car is sporty or not. If i got into a 150hp formentor and was told it was a sports car i'd laugh at the salesman.

but that doesn't change the fact that Cupra brand is Seat's sport brand. It is not just the motor, but the looks and design of the car.

The only Formentor models worthy of being called sports cars are the 310 and the VZ5.

As many reviewers pointed out, there is a lot of identity confusion with what Cupra has done with the Formentor and the Cupra brand.

Before it came around as a standalone brand, only the fastest Seat cars were worthy of carrying it - now even a 1.5 engine is labeled as Cupra... go figure,

Also, it is NOT a SUV - it is a CUV and there is a substantial amount of difference there, in particular in the way it handles and corners.

Yes, but it isn't. The Formentor has been a huge marketing exercise and it is interesting to look at it from that perspective.

The Formentor is an hatchback on stilts.
