Started doing this with the last week. What's the best way to lubricate it and with what?
I don't want to give it a squirt of WD40 if it banjaxes up the electrics.....

WD40 will do fine WD40 is often used to repel water from electrics so no worry on the electrics either.

I had the same issue, dealership said only cure was to replace both mirrors and the noise wasn't sufficient enough to get it under warranty but that only covers mechanical components anyway??

They did put some yellow greasy stuff on their bases, no one seems satisfied with that dealership.

The joke is SERE SEAT is only 400yards down the same stretch and they're SEAT dealership of the year.

Don't forget, wherever you squirt WD40 in you'll get rainwater in there anyway, and WD40 is a lot less hazardous to electrics than rainwater is!! Generally WD40 is pretty safe anywhere on a car except for your brake discs and glass, for obvious reasons.

Personally I'd have a look at where it's rubbing, and use a bit of lithium grease. It's a little less messy than WD40, a bit more permanent, and may stay in place a bit longer. Mine squeak towards the end of the fold, I can see it's where the wing mirror casing isn't quite fitted right and it rubs against the base.

I used the white lithium grease on mine about a year ago, solved the squeak to an extent, they still do it towards the last bit of them folding in though.

Yeah, same here, but on mine it's almost like it's trying to fold too far? But I know that the mark 2 'fold' is different to mine, so that probably isn't the reason why yours squeaks at the end.

Ive used WD40 on mine last spring before I gave it a week end of detailing so what went on the paint was soon removed and they have nice and quiet since. I will be doing them again this spring.

seat nottingham did mine for me when it was serviced!!

What ever oil they used was all over the door and had been lightly wiped with a rag!!!

I was not happy.

It cured it for about a week and then it came back agian!!
