Hi everyone, iv just seen this deal on Groupon, a remap for £99, I was just wondering if anyone else has done this before or should I look elsewhere, thanks for the help

Alarm bells ringing straight away. Plus my groupon experience has been worse than terrible.

I'm sorry to hear that, iv never used Groupon before but my brother in law loves it, i was planning to go to northampton motorsports, after christmas, iv was just interested as the price is low, I think I will ring them and find out more info on what software the use and warranty and things, thanks for the help

I bought something, but after 3 months, countless emails and two failed deliveries i finally gave up on the idea.

To be honest it's not necessarily the groupon thing that would put me off, it's more that I've never heard of the company before. There are plenty of well established and trusted tuners on here, personally i think your money would be better spent with one of those.

Having said that, it's your money and your car.

File pusher, buying in cheap, crap, untested files and pushing them on. Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere

I have had hit and miss experience with Groupon. Had some really good value days out, but I bought an alloy wheel refurb for 99 and have been chasing my refund for over a month. This is as the garage has stopped doing wheel refurbs!

By all means find out some more information about the service they offer, but as Dan says, it is likely they buy maps online and sell them on. You might get lucky and they might have invested in quality maps, but they might have bought cheap and nasty which kills your car quicker than it accelerates to 60!

Save your 99 quid and save up for something good you can trust.

Right iv rang the company and the software they use is called alientech, does anyone know if its any good and apparently I could get about 160bhp after remap, still in two minds

Alientech is the hardware used to create and upload the map, not the name of the map itself. Doesn't tell you anything about the map itself though. Could be great, could kill the car. It's a risk and for 99quid I doubt they will have invested in high end maps!

You can buy alientech kits online yourself and set up your own mapping company of you want.....
