Car Model: 2004 Leon Cupra (AUQ)
Remap Used: Custom-Code Stage 2
Rolling Road Test : Yes - Clive Atthowe, Norwich 242bhp / 256ft-lb (196bhp with all mods but before remap on same dyno one week earlier)
Modifications done : Carbonio intake, full Piper exhaust, TIP, DV, Dog Bone mount

Ratings After Remap

Power Delivery: agressive - my opinion only. C-C remaps are said to be smooth, but I don't agree in this case. It's not a complaint.
Acceleration: 10 out of 10 - makes the best of the turbo it has to work with.
Reliability: 10 out of 10 - never failed to start and cold/hot fueling seems fine.
Drivability: 8 out of 10 - better since dog bone mount, but pushing the limits for a standard differential with FWD. In-gear acceleration superb.
overall: 10 out of 10 - the best value bang for your buck, no question.

Performance Torque

Car Model: Leon Cupra
Remap Used: Performance Torque Custom
Rolling Road Test : 237 bhp (Verry Cold day) 225bhp (Very hot humid day)
Modifications done :piper full system - Turbo back sport cat

Ratings After Remap (ignore facts and figures)

Power Delivery: smooth / agressive Like Silk
Acceleration:8 out of 10 - MY CHOICE
Reliability: 10 out of 10
Drivability:10 out of 10
value for money:10
overall:10 out of 10

I had a generic P-torque map for stage 1 which was excellent. Unfortunately the massive reduction in back pressure from the Piper DP made the turbo spool up so quickly it affected fueling. The car was seriously quick but too aggressive. Pulling out of junctions became a problem due to the turbo coming on boost from 2000 rpm. When the fueling was sorted by p-torque with a custom map, Will was able to adjust the map to my needs. As a result i have had some of the low down over-boost turned down. The difference is amazing. I now have a car which is smooth for passengers and extremely progressive to drive. i have sacrificed a little off the top end for the sake of a much more drivable car, oh and i got a few MPG back!

An aggressive map feels good at first, but when the roads get wet, you will get bored of it trust me!

Car Model: 2003 Leon Cupra R
Remap Used: Redline tuning

Power Delivery: Very smooth, no boost spike
Acceleration: 10 out of 10 - Alot better than standard
Reliability: 10 out of 10 - No change in fueling and no other probs

Car Model: 2001 Leon Cupra
Remap Used: Jabbasport
Rolling Road Test : 242 Bhp 237lbs/ft. jabbasport rolling road
Mods: Forge 007p DV, Dynatwist induction kit. blueflame sports cat+ miltek rear twin pipe.

Ratings After Remap

Power Delivery: Very smooth and strong
Acceleration: 10 out of 10
Reliability: 10 out of 10 Slightly better mpg. No problems.
Drivability: 9 out of 10 - Very drivable.. looking back i should have done the dog bone mounts at this stage. Traction wasnt really an issue unless wet. fitted 18x7.5 alloys with Goodyear eagle f1 tyres which helped alot.
Overall: 10 out of 10 - Great map and excellent, friendly, knowledgable service from Jabbasport

Current stage 3 remap

Car Model: As above
Remap Used: Jabbasport
Rolling Road Test : 320bhp 320lbs/ft Jabbasport Rolling Road
Mods: APR R1 DV, IHI vf23 turbo and bits, open cone induction kit, dog bone bush, suspension , fmic, etc.

Ratings After Remap

Power Delivery: On low boost very controlled and gentle. High boost aggressive and sustaining till redline.
Acceleration: 11 out of 10 - Very fast.
Reliability: 8 out of 10 - Cracked exhaust mani. Boost has dropped from 1.4bar to 1.1bar but has returned to 1.4 bar by replacing dv to r1 and panel filter to open cone. No other issues
Drivability: 7 out of 10 - As a daily driver its pretty good. Couldnt live without being able to turn the boost down for the wet days. cars loses its nippyness of the stage 1 map under 3500rpm

overall: 10 out of 10 - It`s a 100% drivers car. Fantastic power and being able to keep boost low in 1st and 2nd gears turning it on full for 3rd gear onwards makes full use of the map

Unbelievable ammount of power from just a remap. Ive been a customer of Revo for the ibiza and i have to say custom code is neck in neck! Obsolutely brilliant! You can drive it like you stole it lol

Car Model: LCR 225 '04
Remap Used: APR Phase 1
Rolling Road Test : No
Modifications done : Forge 007p DV, Green Cotton Panel filter

Ratings After Remap (ignore facts and figures)

Power Delivery: smooth, progressive, consistent
Acceleration: 10 out of 10
Reliability: 9 out of 10 (blown coil pack, although not necessarily due to remap! 1st and only in 30k
Drivability: 8 out of 10 (no doubt more if I had a dogbone mount - a lot of shudder off the line or cornering fast. Best over 3500rpm. With more mods the handling could be much better)
value for money: 10 out of 10 - didn't get charged VAT
overall: 10 out of 10

Massive power and torque increase makes this a fearsome beast when the mood takes. I prefer the fact it's not neck-shatteringly torquey though, have to change gears less and maintains power almost all the way to the redline. Economy has improved 1-2mpg in like-for-like driving comparisons. Also claims to be utterly undetectable by diagnostics although I've never had to test this.

Car Model: -04 LCR
Remap Used: BSR
Rolling Road Test : not yet
Modifications done : split R, TIP, K&N, boost/ oil pressure gauge

Ratings After Remap
Power Delivery: really agressive
Acceleration: 10
Reliability: 10
Drivability: 10
value for money: 10
overall: 10

Other Comments: Had high expectations and BSR delivered in spades. UNBELIVABLE difference!!! Night and day. Boosts 22/23psi in 3rd gear. Even on partial power I can feel alot more torque. 1000% happy =D

no real before an after figures here so how are we to tell from this info who is giving the most bang for your buck?
i have revo stage 2an from 1 to 2 i wouldn't recommend it to anyone as power never changed but lost the wow factor under 2500rpm so as far as i have rear else where i would say if you want to go further than panel filter an back box then go custom code or jabba, if not then revo is the way forward. generic only

Problem with something like this is not many people will say they dont like their own map?

-Actually I read someone here earlier who was helladissapointed with his remap. Felt there was NO difference before/after...

As long as you feel it in your pants then you didnt waste your hard earned dineros :)

'bang for your buck' is for max power readers and other assorted chav scum. This thread is about how the car actually drives after a remap and generally the whole experience. Pick the right dyno on the right day and I could easily add 20bhp to my figure - but of course you know all about the dyno lottery don't you?
