Had a bump...

Never has a bump in nearly 8 years of driving, then on sheet ice all 4 wheels locked at 5mph and i slid into a 2008 Ford Ranger. Gutted, properly gutted because i was only in the area because i was trying to save myself £5 in postage after buying something off eBay!
I even had anough time to put it into reverse but no use, just slid as it was quite a steep road, luckily he was stood in traffic. Damage to his was his front bumper was stoved in, i think my headlight took most of the brunt because the Rangers are quite tall, the only thing is my excess is £750 and ive got 6 years unprotected no claims. Im going to try sourse a front bumper for his if he says its ok, as im a mechanic but struggling atm if anyone knows a 4x4 breakers/Ford breakers preferably in the Yorkshire area?
If he claims, will i lose all my no claims? Also, are the bonnet headlight and front wings all the same on Leons?

Then, on the way home, my clutch release bearings started playing up! When im stationary it still creeps and wont let me take it into neutral!! nt doing it all the time so ill worry about that when i break down!

Mine can wait until i've got some spare cash!

The bumpers are all different for the seperate models.
AFAIK the lights are all the same, wings same and bonnet same.

There is a post on the MK1 section about the bonnet similarities

think you will struggle to find an 08 bumper for the ranger, there like gold dust, and wont be cheap.

but then neither is your excess

You typically lose 2 years NCD if your unprotected in a fault claim.

Bad luck mate. I get the feeling you won't be the only one over the next few days with the weather like that though. Heres hoping you get it sorted and it doesn't cost you a fortune.
