Had my car remapped this morning and WOW :D

Done by Celtic Tuning who came to our home to do it, very good service.

The thing that has impressed me the most is the smoothness of the power delivery after the remap.

80% of the extra power from the remap is available now with the remaining 20% coming over the next 100 miles or so, the trip to Snetterton on Sunday should cover that.

I don't know if this is common on the Leon Cupra TDI but i had a flat spot changing from 1st to 2nd but since the remap this has gone.

I'll be putting it on a rolling road in about a week or so to see what figures its producing, the guy said 195bhp and 300lbs/ft torque.

When the car was standard i used to get a sudden surge of power at around 2k revs, but since the car has been remapped i don't get that same lump of torque at 2k revs, is this normal on a remapped car? Is it due the remap making the power delivery a lot smoother?

This is my first turbo diesel car and the first time i have had a car remapped so excuse me for asking stupid questions ;)

Ye they will have made the boost last alot longer over the rev range hence why you dont feel that surge. I see your on about a mufflerectomy...I would get a non res milltek. I have heard a muffle and they sound shocking at idle and a bit better on the move. The Millteks sound quieter at idle and sound awesome under full load.

That just makes me jealous as would love a remap but no money and more people keep saying got and and get one.

I get that as well with a flat spot, sometimes from 2nd to 3rd if dat in 2nd for to long - have had to adjust driving style to suit.

cheers for good write up and hope you enjoy.

I also might get a decat rather then a mufflerectomy but i don't know what difference if any, it will make to sound of the exhaust. I agree though that a mufflerectomy doesn't sound great at idle but i quite like it at full chat.
I'd like the milltek but how much do they cost?

Its money well spent and you can't beat it in terms of bangs for bucks.
Mine cost £300 and they come to your home to do it.
