Cheers mate everything was going pretty well today untill it came to the wiring and the ignition lights wouldnt come on, later on after splicing into the alarm we realised the ecu wasnt connected so going to continue tomorrow. Its turning over which is a good sign!
Well almost there with this project its been hard to get the hours on it recently due to it raining everyday. Ive decided to just work on it even if it is raining as its took a while and i really want the golf back on the road for the weekend. Its turning over which is a good sign and i have ignition lights etc just waiting on some blue magnecor leads coming from awesome
Anyways heres how the engines sits the now, bit messy but ill get it cleaned up once ive got it up and running
I gave my mate a spare inlet manifold i had to see what he could do with it and he brought it back to me today looking like this.
I was over the moon as this is the first time hes ever tried anything like this and i think hes done a top job so the manifold will be getting swapped over on monday if i can bring myself to work on it
Might get a video of it running with only a downpipe lol should be loud
Its not that hard mate this is my first conversion saying that my mates have helped me and they know their stuff. As for cost ive spent alot more than i had originally planned but thats due to rebuilding and replacing parts for piece of mind.
Cheers its took alot longer than planned due to all the problems we ran into but its almost finished!
Things to do are:
Wire fans up
Finish off radiator pipes
Refit dash interior
Finish bleeding brakes/clutch
Get exhaust made up
So still got a few things to do but once everything is complete and im happy how it drives i will be getting it MOT'd which hopefully it will pass first time.
Its funny you mention that Scott i might be down your way after the new year if i am i could try and meet up with you. Is the Ibiza off the road now?
