Been thinking about investing in vag-com, I'm particularly interested in the adaptations, but I have a hunch that the Snap-On Modis diag equipment at work would be able to do all this for me? Can anyone confirm this? Or even offer some advice how to do it?

Cheers.

It should do some of the work (christ it costs enough!) but for real-deal VW Group diagnostics VCDS really is the kiddie to have.

Got the latest snap on device at work and to be honest VAG-COM is a lot better/easier to use. Absolute pain to use in changing coding and adaptions. Had to get a snapon tech to guide me through the expert mode because its complete bollocks lol.

Yeah I figured vcds would be a whole lot easier, I just wanted to save myself £2/300 and use the bosses equipment...

snap on diag machines are not as good as vcds or even the delphi/autel maxidas 708 or even the launch
especially in price

I also share this opinion.

I have a diagun mk2 and it's embarrassing how's much better it is than other far more expensive pieces of equipment there is out there.

But VCDS when in the right hands is the best tool available in terms of coverage and price.

So no guide to doing it on modis then? I might just call snap on and get them to talk me through it.
