cant get hold of the previous owner, phone is cut off so cant ask him!!!....my turbo is knackered but i am not sure whether it is a ko3 or ko3s, is there any way of finding out from looking at the top of the engine bay by looking at the actuator, as i cant seem to find the turbo unit itself as its too tight behind the engine bay at back, all i can see is a actuator.

all i know is a ko3s has 8 blades and ko3 has 12, how do i get to the tip and remove the boost pipe to check the turbo blades when i cant even see the turbo!!!

please someone help i feel stupid lol ...

Cheers.

get under the car, inbetween the downpipe and the firewall you will be able to see the TIP, depending on whether you have an original or aftermarket, i.e. Forge, you'll need to slide the TIP off by undoing the jubilee clip holding it on. you will then be able to see the k03/k03s blades. You might want to get a camera and take some photos of the turbo plate, i.e. the manufacturer/model number stamped into the side, should be a blue plate with 'KKK' on it.

Also if your going to be taking the tip off, you may aswell have a look at how many blades you have k03 has 12 k03s has 8..

Just look at the actuator and see how many vac lines are connected to it?

The k03 uses a 85 N actuator with two ports whereas a K03S has only one.

Some early K03s also run a 65 N actuator with a lower opening pressure.

i presume the car has been modified?

If its an ibiza and its a stock car then its a K03. So i presume from your confusion that its been modded fairly significantly?

is it remapped?

The cars apparently running 230bhp according to the previous owner before he changed his number never to be heard off again lol, and I CHECKED the vac lines to the actuator and it has 1 vac line on the actuator NOT 2 so it is a ko3s that i have, because k03 turbos have 2 vac lines going to the actuator!

Yayy! :funk:

if anyone has a ko3 double check for me if it has 2 vacuum pipes on the actuator, and any ko3s owners check if it has 1 vacuum pipe

theres a guy on ebay selling a ko3 from a vw with 1 vacuum outlet, IM CONFUSED
