Hey folks,

As silly as it sounds, the ONE thing I want to make sure my next car has, is heated seats, the Golf has them and I love them in the winter!

Anyway, i've seen so many FR's, some are ideal, have everything (easier things to retrofit like Sat Nav / Bluetooth etc) yet no heated seats.

Anyway, on the Golf it was a total pain, it involved replacing front seats with ones which have heater pads in them, then buying a new climate control panel with the controls on there for it, and wiring a Loom from both seats to the panel etc.

= major pain = no way would I want to do it again.

Is the newer Leon the same to do? In otherwords, am I going to have to ignore all the FR's i've seen and try to find one with heated seats from standard?

Remember the FR's have airbags in the seats - be careful when shoving tools in there! :)

AFAIK, leather = heated. Leather seats are fairly common in the FR. I should know; I've got 'em in mine.

My FR has them :D cloth seats aswell! Not had chance to test them out properly tho.

Ill grab my coat...

I think ultimately it's easier and a safer bet to aim to buy one with heated seats, leather would be nice, but I think cloth seats would be just as nice.

...The search continues!

Never really wanted heated seats in a car, then again I've never had a car with full leather (only part) so it hasn't really bothered me. I have cloth seats in my Leon.

If I did have full leather then I would want ventilated seats more than heated...a friend has a S class Merc with full leather heated/ventilated seats and it is AWESOME in the summer.

The seats have loads of little holes all over them and when the seat ventilation is turned, cold air comes out of the seats. If you unlock the car with the keyfob and the temperature inside the car is over a certain threshold it automatically turns the drivers seat ventilation on so the leather isn't boiling when you get in the car :D
