heater not blowing hot

hi all

noticed yesterday that my heater is only giving warm air when it used to blow hot. i`m gonna glance at the coolant bottle before i go to work in case i have none.

no faults on vagcom

whats the likely cause?

blockage in heat exchanger / poor flowing coolant / lazy water pump / stuck open thermostat

no - it's mechanical

Does your car seem to take ages to get up to temperature (on the guage)?

didnt seem to yesterday... but i`ll check this today. i`ll report later

ok coolant lvl is fine. coolant rises normally.

however noticed that the external temp read 12 c but it felt cooler. checked it against a mates beeza at work. his read 16 mine 20!

could this be it?

deffo suspect external temp sensor. 18c at 8pm tonight... 10mins later 16! and its cold out there... im getting heat but not hot heat.

is this somhow linked to internal temps?
