Heater petrol smell

Recently when ever I put the heater on hot or cold a smell of petrol comes through the vents. When driving this stops only happens when am sat at lights or stood still. Any ideas ? Also when I press aircon button the smell goes completely

Has your mpg gone down ? Have you checked for petrol leaks under the bonnet ?

mine used to do this and it turned out to be connected to secondary air pump issue

Looked under bonnet and found this had snapped off smells of petrol coming from the pipe Anyone know what the box is ??

Its the carbon cannister that filters you fuel vapour

What fuel vapour does it filter? I.e how do the vapours end up there?

Very easy to replace, mine was split as well. Used uprated fuel hose and two jubilee clips. Also use a carbon interior filter, that tends to neutralize smells
