the digital heating system on my car is malfunctioning outside temp reads far tooo high and the heating will not blow hot air at any setting other than high anything below that it blows cold air, engine temp gauge reads spot on anyone any ideas on how to fix problem

would that effect the iside heating system of the car i thought that sensor was only to tell you the outside temp

yeh it does - mine was temporarily cut off as it was stopping the aircon from working! Seat will try and charge you silly money for the sensor IIRC, Maplins do the same thing for a couple of quid.

mine blows hot air only on high - anything below that is cold - i thought it was supposed to be like this?

passenger wing mirror temp working fine

anyone got anymore suggestions dont want to change sensor if its not that

and any pics or explanations as to how to change it would be helpful

but it is your sensor by the sounds of things

have heard there is an internal temp sensor would this not control the heating

Someone smashed my wing mirror causing the care to report -30 outside temperature.

So - the aircon wouldn't come on. This was easily solved by disconnecting the temperature sensor but you have to remove the passenger side door card to do this.

I just bought a new mirror including sensor for £77 from www.wingmirrorman.co.uk - seems like the original part too! Easy enough to fit and my aircon now comes on okay.

I think my internal sensor might be a bit iffy though - so that's the next job!
