Hello all,

Currently a member of uk-mkivs and own a Golf MK4 1.4. Lovely car, looks nice but as you can imagine lacks umpgh!!!

So... I am just about to order my first real car, me being only 21 and a former tax dodger! So a Seat Leon 2.0 TDI is my choice....

Went to go and see it and loved it although being a little dubious by the look of the interior on the brochure I was won over... Stunning!

So I went to Frosts of Portslade - they quoted me £305 p/m (25000 miles, £3500 deposit) over 36 months. Okay.. lets do a shop around!

Then went to drivethedeal and have been initially quoted £240 p/m same deal with the ipod interface, black metallic and bluetooth kit.

Can I rely on this quote? I asked Frosts and they said that it was complete rubbish and they can't quote at that price.. so I said go away and come back to me with a better offer than their original!

Next thing.... modifications!!!

Does anyone know about 2.0TDI remap/subtle engine mods and whether the warranty will be void?

Is it likely to require a new clutch???

And whilst I upgrade the engine... what fitment brembos will go on????

So hello to all and what do we think????

Thanks

Guy

I agree...Might be worth waiting for the FR.

Mmmm I know what your both saying but I have to get it ASAP. Its going to be a company car (car allowance based) and currently my 6 yr old Golf is being frowned upon when taking clients out. So they told me to go and get a new one! Who am I to argue!

So

  • engine mods?
  • what size brembos?
  • am I getting a good deal
  • is drivethedeal.com any good for quote reliability?

Much obliged!
