took my leon to garage yeterday to get tyres changed and not got my locking wheel nut key, ive looked everywhere and seat said it will take 10 days to get one (tyres wont last past today!)
So does anyone in leeds have a locking wheel nut key that i cud come visit!!
i have a 2003 1.6 sx if that helps. Thanks

Phone up the AA think they charge £30 to take them off for you.

I think i read the stock seat locks only have around 50 combos?

argh! well the tyre place sed they'll try n get em off for me but cud damage the wheel, cheers guys

i do, from my 17s that i took off few weekends ago
your welcome to try it, but i do need it as im selling the wheels
im at work now and wont be back home til 7-8 and live in bingley

there is only about 15 combinations and seat will have the masters for each kind

thanks RIKH but i gotta be at the garage for half 4 and the def need changin tday, cheers.

Does anyone know how likely it is that the wheel will be damaged!?

i rang seat and they said that they have to order it and it will take 10 days

they are having your leg up seriously every seat garage has the set if the garage uses a hammer gun yes expect damage

do you honestly think that there are that many variations how would you keep track seriously there are only 15 or so different types:lol:

just rang another seat dealer they said 88 quid to remove the locking wheel nuts!

thats scandalous
if its true, what someone said about AA and RAC removing for 30quid might be your best bet

im jus gunna get the tyre place to do it, cant be that much damage, has any1 had it dun b4?

I sell wheels for a living and its amazing the amount of times that locking wheel nut keys get lost..so dont worry too much you are not the only one that looses them :)

It sounds brutal but basically you force a socket over the bolt head with a bit of help from a big hammer and then take the bolt out as normal. You may get a bit of damage on the alloy, it all depends on the style of wheel and how much space you have around the bolt to work.

I have just taken a set off a customers car this morning..I thought I was going to have problems as they were Mcgards but they came off with no more effort than normal  It was just bloody cold working in the snow !!

Yeah expect some damage a few years ago I had a puncture on my clio 172 cup and when I bought the car there was no locking wheel nut key si I had to wait for one from speedline in Italy. Typically I got a puncture. Renault removed the nut and damaged my wheel and then had to pay for a new wheel!! Good luck mate but tyres are important especially in the snow!

Dozer the snow is bad in Birmingham isn't it!

I turn into a big kid when it snows so I am loving it..only 2 problems..Working outside is a nightmare and my car is covered is crap from the roads !! But a small price to pay for the chance to build snowman :cartman:

thanks guys, im gunna get ma cousin to take the locking nuts off like Dozer said. Advantage to having no tread is 1.6 looks like a cupra at lights when i sat still with wheels spinning!!! hopefully shud b sorted tnite!

if they are seat locking wheel nuts the dealer should be able to get them off. or failing that a skoda garage.
local one here has all the combinations...

however, this guy is near leeds, ive used him he can get them off for you easily.
He wont damage the alloys either. he may / may not damage the bolt itself dependant on the type.

Give him a call and say andy with the seat gave you his number and he should be able to do if for you for a good price.

Dave: 01977 520 666 company name "dynomec"

let us know how you get on. he will definately get them off and is very helpful!

let us know how you get on.

there is definitely more than 15 combos, 50 sounds alot more accurate but id guess even more

and not every dealership hold spare sets i know that is a fact
