Hi,

Yesterday I installed my new head unit, but didn't check the removed alana head unit for any cds left in it and there was, doh! :(

Don't want to have to remove new head unit and all the trim again to do it, but would like the CD back, have tried attaching CD unit to a power supply via the 12V permanent and ignition pin, but get the "1000" message for the radio code, however when I enter the radio code supplied and follow the manual instructions it does not accept the code and the unit switches itself off.

Can anyone help, it would be greatly appreciated. :help:

Know that everyone who has read this may have had a good chuckle, and fair play because I do feel pretty stupid, but does anyone have any ideas?

The only way i can think of without plugging it in is opening it up

If you're absolutely desperate for the disc sadly you'll have to take out your new headunit to get it out

I have the radio code though and can enter it in, but it just doesn't accept it and switches itself off. Would the dealer be able to get it out if I gave them the disconnected head unit?

the radio should have a default code, not sure what it is but its usually something simple (most electricals tend to be something like 0000 or 1234)

if you can't get the code i wouldn't pay somebody (that price is ridiculous) i'd personally open up the head unit and get the disc out that way
