Had a search for the other two codes that you can't read with vag com and they are:

18027 P1619 Glow Plug/Heater Relay Circ. Open/Short to Ground
17957 P1549 Boost Pressure Contr.Valve Short to Ground

Ain't the N239 the antishudder??? I don't know cos the N18 controls the antishudder on the 1.9s but then the 1.4 has a wastegated turbo and different valves,,,

get it to the dealer,,,

Right looks like it is the N75 valve too then! Do you know if these are the same as standard on Arosa and Leon cupra? As I have a spare if it is! Thanks for your helpo mate! ;)

number 11 below seems to control the anti shudder valve , 9 for egr

the 2 valves have different part nums so arent interchangable like on the 1.9s

id be getting to local scrappies looking for one of each and try swapping them over , get a glow plug relay when your there

AFAIR, the 1.4 tdi has not an N75,,,

Taking a look here, at page 33, page 51 and 52 you can get the idea of what this N239 looks like and where it is [altho it's for 1.9pd engines],,, indeed I was right, it operates the antishudder valve.

Altho here it says that if the N239 goes dead the antishudder stays open [which makes sense], I'd try to start the car with someone keeping manually open the antishudder valve [just push the actuator arm]. Let's suppose it remains closed for whatever reason [strange but let's just suppose it] the engine wouldn't start obviously,,, give it a try I don't know.

What I don't understand is how all 3 parts [2 valves and a relay] have gone shot all at the same time,,, mind you not always the ecu faults are real, sometimes they are triggered by other malfunctions so don't take for granted that those valves are shot,,, [but while you're there, get them changed anyway under warranty at the dealer],,,

Hope this sorts out.

Unfortunately the warranty has expired! The boost control valve as in the 3rd error code isn't that the N75?

Warranty has expired since I've had it! I thought it was the wastegate that controlled the vanes?

I mis-read post #38 and thought it was still under warranty [hence post #39],,, sorry!!

To make it clear, the wastegate is a valve on the turbo that opens to let out pressure when pressure gets higher than what is programmed,,,

The vanes are only in vnt turbos which are different from normal turbos and they don't have wastegates. The N75 on these diesel engines with vnt's is used to control the movement of the vanes,,, the 1.4 tdi has a normal turbo with a wastegate so it shouldn't have a N75.

You're a fountain of knowledge! :D I thought these turbo's were vnt tho!?
Oh well she's off to SEAT Dealer in 30 mins! She's since flashed up another fault code something to do with pump on cylinder 1 (N240) valve exceeded or something! She certainly isn't a ahappy little car! :(

3 weeks of trouble free running and at the first sign of frost this morning she gave up the ghost and didn't wanna start again!

Exactly the same symptoms as before, it must be the glow plugs not working? Shouldn't she just start from compression after a few turns?
