Help Engine wont start!!

Last night went into the shop and came back out and the engine wont start.
Makes a whiring/grinding noise and nothing else.
After a few tries it started and i got home but it wont start again.

Any ideas what it could be

its a 2001 1.4 ibiza

starter motor has failed by the sound of it

is it easy to replace as i dont have a clue??

p.s if it was the starter should i be able to push start it..lol i need to get to work??

yeah you should be able to push start with a dead starter, just pray you dont stall it and park facing down a hill stick it in second and puuuuussssshhhhh lol

yes push start it should be ok

starter motor is easy to do but not easy to get to if you catch my drift

tried push starting but still same noise and wont start
gonna have a garage look at it cause i dont wanna spend £110 on a starter motor when it could be something cheaper
