My Ibiza 6L 1.4 was petrol suddenly failed. Going up a steep incline in 1st gear I lost power and stalled. Engine still starts and idles smoothly but as soon as you apply throttle a roar like a major exhaust leak comes from the throttle body and there’s not enough power to move the car without stalling. Reva won’t rise above 2000 rpm but you idle is smooth.
Some fumes from the throttle body or engine bay but no actual smoke from exhaust or throttle body.
Noise appearing to come from the throttle body. With the filter/breather unit removed if you force open the TB you get the same deep roar.
I’m lost for ideas. Burnt out valves maybe? Head Gasket.
