• Hey Guest💡👉 We have recently launched our new Dealer Directory and review service Find out more now
Youll need pin reading tools and VCDS, although ive never replaced any on a car newer than 2006, im pretty sure it will work. If you could confirm your engine code ill look up the details?

I could do this for you, or you could visit the dealer. Regarding what dials would fit, i would try to find one with the correct part number, however there may be others can be used too. Im unsure about milage correction though.

Engine code doesnt actually matter now, I am confident I can read the PIN, if you have the correct part number I would be happy to do the swap for you, but im quite far away, maybe somebody more local would help, but i am available at short notice.

Have you read http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=345890

VCDS isn't necessary with the VAG Commander way, but it can clear faults afterwards.

As far as I know, Leon and Altea clocks are the same but the time adjusting knob is different.

You don't mention what engine is in your car? Anyway buy diesel clocks 6k rpm or petrol 8k rpm depending what you have, but either actually fits.

You want clocks with red display not white I assume?

Tried and tested it tens of times, takes a few minutes and mileage can be put to the exact km reading, not within 10 miles. But whatever suits you best!

Good to know I wsted 6k euros lol

You can buy the genuine AVDI units for as little as £850 its the software you choose there after where you have to part with big bucks.

Full package from Kap is around £7k for VAG alone

Vag tacho is £410

And vcds is £275

Vag tacho is far outshone by the commander but then again it is nearly 20 times the price!

I've also used a clone unit from Cardiag that was stupidly good and fault free.

im finding a clone commander more reliable at the moment than vag tacho tbh. I attempted 2 immo3 clusters on mk4 golfs yesterday, tacho wouldnt read either, commander did, one clocks went smoothly, the other wouldnt adapt in vcds which left me scratching my head, faulty clocks/ecu or bad wiring, but possibly the aftermarket head unit causing issues. got late and dark so had to leave it for another day!

generally if one doesnt work the other will, but i also use MVP pro to read ecu pins too and that never lets me down :D

@udi A3 has offered to help you out. I'm sure others have struggled and spent a lot of money trying to fit white clocks (which I'm sure use the UDS protocol) in to vehicles with can bus and non compatable control modules.
