Hi,

So I've purchased a new igintion coil pack, as recently the AA man had to replace one, and said one of them looked VERY old, so I thought I'd replace it - he said it is an EASY job.

Its is number 3 (from the left) that needs replacing.

I'm no mechanic, so do any of you guys know of any 'how to' guide, and what tools I'll need?

Appears I need to remove the black 'thing' that covers coils 3 and 4...

Hi,

I've no tool box, but a few tools...

What tools do I require:

Big flat-head screwdriver for removing the clip that holds the coil pack in place, and what else?

This reservoir, is it Allen-key, or regular bolt I can do with an adjustable spanner?

I saw the AA man had to use a magnetic screwdriver for one bit - is that correct?

Just worried I'll get it apart, and not be able to get back together again...

If you lift the engine cover and look you should see what you will need, as far as i remember they are 10mm bolts! Could be wrong though! Its pretty straight forward anyway mate! Just take your time!

Just had a look, you will need an 8mm or 10mm socket and ratchet and hex keys as well! Don't think you will manage to get a spanner on there but you can try! You might need to disconnect a vac pipe or two as well to get some room, just remember where they go and you will be fine!

Should be 10mm socket, dont make it much harder than it is. Its really easy.

Mine has two torx style bolts and one 10mm bolt that i can see! Im sure it is really easy mate, when you know how! Better looking at the tools than looking for them! You might not need to remove pipes or need room to work but the guy who started the thread clearly has never done it before and just might! No harm in giving him extra options incase he needs them!

True, but people tend to overthink these things (myself included in the beginning). Use common sense and take pictures so you can always reconnect it the way it was.
