Help with buying a used suspension kit

Hi

As the title says I'm looking for a used suspension kit, mainly to improve handling and for a small drop.

Budget including installation is about 300, meaning I can't really afford to buy a new kit. I've seen one on sale, pics below. It's a gear old but what worries me is the rust on the part, is this normal for this type of car part (I know nothing) or am I right in thinking I should avoid this. Asking price is over £125

I wouldn't worry looks like any other strut /spring with a little surface corrosion . If U can check the dampers compress evenly & smoothly without untoward resistance and that they rebound fully

I have a set of ST sport dampers and springs 40/40 for sale. Only used for 2-3 months and covered less than 500 miles.

Thanks very much for your reply. I don't understand why the strut/spring would start to have any surface rust after just one year, but good to hear its not an issue in this case.

Worth bearing in mind that budget coilovers can be had for around £140-150 new! Fk or Pro sport have a look on the E'bay . The ride ain't amazing if you go too low and wont last forever but they are value for money at that end of market.
Theres garages out there that will fit suspension for £20 a corner bringing you upto £230ish. You could maybe factor in new top mounts at front.
Or get a mate to do a homer
