I'm planning to get a short shifter kit for my car and refresh the shift mechanism bushings. I want both front-to-back and side-to-side short shifters and found this kit on eBay at a decent price: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/286400700923. Does it look right? The seller says it should fit, but I’m not 100% sure—if not, I'll get them separately. Also, does anyone know good alternatives in the EU to the Dieselgeek bushing kit? I like it, but it'll probably cost a lot more with tax. I’ve got a 1.8T with a 6-speed manual. Looks different in the photos as well.
The gearstick bushings don't really fail. I'd concentrate on the gear linkage bushes:

Yeah, I saw that about the MK6, but after messaging them, they said it’ll fit my car. They’ve even got identical listings under my car’s name, just without the side-to-side kit. I was looking at it because it includes the side-to-side shifter, but after reading posts here, I’m not too sure about it now. Appreciate the recommendation, though—it sounds solid. I thought people usually do shifter bushings, but I guess that’s more of a MK4 Golf thing? The advice I always read was to do only the front-to-back and not the side-to-side. I did the front-to-back with billet bushing and Forge big knob and absolutely loved it. Felt very mechanical and the heaver shift knob was a good addition. Shifting becomes way easier due to the added weight on the end of the "lever"

Thank you so much! Looks very clean and that’s what I wanna do. I updated my eBay watchlist for that shifter and I’ll get the shifter bushings too. Nice one. It’s annoying I’ll have to take it apart a bit to check what billet sizes I’ll need. Yes maximum shortage (all the way to the right in my comparison shot), you can always adjust it to a little bit more throw
