Its a long shot i know, but i bought some mk4 golf lowering springs for my leon, and im wondering if anyone could tell me if they'd fit my leon tdi? and if anyone would be willing to help me out?

:help:

Well I have just fitted a set of mk4 golf gti lowering springs on my leon cupra and they fitted and it sits and rides well so would have to say yes. I know the diesels are a bit heavier at the front but should be ok.

The TDi's need the heavier springs, either a Golf TDi or one of the V cars, V5, VR6, R32 etc.

If you have standard Golf springs you might find it's too low.

hi i litterally just finished fitting my golf mk4 lowering springs (g-max) bout 20 mins ago to my leon cupra and it sits nicely and allthough it is stiffened up round the corners it seems to have retained most if not all of its comfort on the bumpy side streets i just tested it on so i 2 would have to say yes whats funny is that the same company i bought them of charged alot more for the leon ones wich are identicall as my m8 bough them same time i got mine!!! i think ill see what else fits my car of the golf i.e fmic, strut brace etc as it might all be cheaper !!!!!

I looked into this a while ago, and if you get ones which were originally on the golf with same engine / an engine which weighed the same as the one you have in the leon should sit fine with the golf suspension on. I think the only exception to this is the LC / LCR maybe, but I don't really know about those, but should fine with the dervs!

The golf spring listed for the gti are compatible with the tdi aswell so don't thin it will make all that difference. Your right about the cost though as it just doesn't make sense they should charge that much more for almost the same spring. Perhaps its because the golf is a more common fitment.
