Hi, I have now had my Tavascan for 2 months now and the question nearly everyone asks is "am I happy with it?". I have to say that I was a little worried going from a
Formentor VZ2 (310) to a Tavascan V2 (petrol to EV) was quite a big step, however I am doing quite a lot less miles now. I have the Tavascan V2 in Tavascan Blue and I have to say that I really like the colour and the overall look of the car. The interior "Dark Night" looks great and the overall finish in the car is lovely. Over the past 2 months I have averaged around 300 miles per charge and as I mainly charge at home this costs me approx. £5.15 for those 300 miles (absolute bargain), compare that to the
Formentor which cost me around £65 for 400 miles. The Tavascan is so quiet too compared to the
Formentor. I do a lot of local driving and some motorway and have found the car to be very comfortable and easy to drive and I find it a more relaxing experience overall. One of my main gripes about my
Formentor was the infotainment system (this will be no surprise to anyone). Although it did improve over time with updates it was never really great. The new system in the Tavascan is a whole new world as it seems to work faultlessly and it is very responsive. I watched many
reviews and one thing that always crops up is the haptic buttons on the steering wheel (everyone seems to hate them). I have had no issues with this and I guess it depend on how you drive, I don't grip the steering wheel like a crazed animal and can't really see the issue with these buttons, they seem to work well and I have not had accidental presses as suggested by many. I do agree however, that the brake pedal can be difficult to judge sometimes but have found that playing around with the regen settings I have found that I am happy with how this works now. Everything else seems to work as well as expected and thus far I have had no range anxiety or concerns. The performance is surprisingly good, the
Formentor was quick and I know I don't have the same power in the Tavascan but I honestly do not notice the difference. The Tavascan delivers its power in a very different way and as such feels pretty sporty. Others have complained about the electric window switches, as you have to select the rear windows to control them. As a pretty normal driver I have rarely need to open the rear window and the fact I have to select them should I need to put the windows down doesn't seem like a major issue to me. I don't think I opened the rear windows in my
Formentor from the drivers seat in the 3 years that I owned it. this may be a big
problem for some, not sure who but for me its fine. Is the Tavascan a good car? I would have to say yes, absolutely it is. It suits my needs and I am very happy with my choice.
