hi I'm looking at sorting a few things on my seat Leon cupra before I start to change/modify it, i didn't want to start individual threads so here goes

Is it possible to find out if a car had been remapped... i noticed it has a forge 007 dv on it today and it does go like stink but i have never test drove any other cupra. I was thinking a different coloured spring in the dvt to handle the extra bhp??

the boot does not lock iv tried the key and had no luck either im going to try the spare keys tomorrow but i don't hold much hope i cant hear the motor when i lock the other doors so any ideas would be great.

the stereo keeps telling me im safe which i assume is yobbish term of endearment... how long does it normally take to clear so i can put the code in sat there for half an hour like a Mellon.

tarr :)

ah just found a search on the remap problem to install a boost gauge... doh

still to know the spring colour would be a quicker solution

HI
Firstly yellow spring is the best for remaped cars. But that isnt the answer to know if its maped as most new dv's come with yellow spring. You can put the car on rollers or get boost gauge. witch will boost any think between 14 to 22psi if mapped depending what has been done or 8psi if standerd. If you have a friend with vagcom or know some 1 with it you can do a live test to find out the psi that way. Or get a tuner to reasd your ecu file loads of options my friend. Hope this helps.

how much would a go on the rollers be? i don't really want a boost gauge in the car i may change my mind but i cant find any that look standard enough for me (not keen on the pillar pods) and how much are the vent one? £££

I've seen vag com on ebay with a cable and cd is this what i need and how does it work im not fully up on the conception ill try find a link

yes very helpfull ta :D

It's good to have a boost gauge tells you alot whats going on with the boost.I'm going to buy a liquid gauge witch is like vagcom built into ur vent very easy to fit goes straight into your obd2 port. And its touch screen £220 off ebay good vaule!

rolling road test is normal about £30 for 3 test's R-tec performance in hinkley warwickshire are good. if you are local use them.

Don't get a cheap knock off vagcom they only read fault codes not live data cost bout £300 bran new so would be worth asking about. There is a kit for £56 i think its new but ive heard that does the same for half the price its called vag 105 or sumert like that.

Were you from if you arent to far you could pop down to me and ive got a friend with all the gear £20 for live data run n fault check's.
im based just out side brimingham TAMWORTH.;)

im in west yorkshire mate but far for me due to working long hours at the moment. do you have a link for the liquid gauge thing may consider if it looks right, sounds interesting :)

I know a few lads from tamworth ;) lol

Anyway.... Boost gauge would be a good idea as you can keep an eye on your boost level and see if you have any leaks etc (boost leak = **** power) the liquid gauge as mentioned is better but costs nore etc

With the boot lock could just be a loose cable or plug on the mec

Rollers my way (wiltshire) are 45+ vat so you'll be looking between £30-£60 or there abouts

As for radia put key in ignition leave radio on and Niger off fir about a hour then all should be good to enter the code ;)

Just put in seat leon liguid gauge on ebay and it will come straight up. it does every think vagcom does apart from silly things like adjust throttle and recode keys to the car but if you dont know what you are doing you dont need them any way if you get my drift.

I'm getting 1 end of month when get paid.:funk::funk:

What lads do you know m8? As tamworth isnt that big i mite know who you know lol

Jay Riley and pee head and eddy wetton ;) lol

Liquid gauge does do throttle body reset I think and you can't code keys with vagcom ;) lol
