Well when I originally went looking for a cupra to buy the only one for sale in good shape in Ireland was 5500 and it was stock and clean. 2005 I think it was. Don't know if that's them holding value or being rare to find in any way decent shape here.

Very rare then. You don’t see them in England for more than 1500 quid. You should start importing at that price.

Just wanted to follow this up as I had to pay 700 Euro to put the car on Irish plates this week. So may hold off on importing haha

Welcome ! I have two modified mk1 Leon’s ... I e is a rare APP engined 1.8T Sport . Later badged cupra and is a very early 2000 model . Possibly ( and I asked on here ) the oldest one around !
Lots of friendly people on here loads of advice !
Mk1 is still an amazing looking car and blows lots of “faster” cars into the weeds.... ask the type R driver I was pushing down the road the other day and an M3 driver ...
youl soon get yours up together and will have a great car ! Good luck

Thanks! Yea I'm really enjoying it. Giving me a lot of experience working on cars which is something I've always wanted to learn. Once I do have it fully up and running I will struggle to spend big money on mods just because I would be wary of an engine mishap haha.
They move pretty rapid and sound good too.

As long as you do the correct mods and service it correctly and use proper coolant (g12++) it will go great. Don’t know if youv updated your coils yet... chuck some red Tfsi one so on when they go bang!

Ye have r8's in it now. Bit of a blip boosting will have to solve that then hopefully no more issues.
