Hi Guys..

Just wanted to share my experience with HID upgrade, I haven't had my Leon TDI 150 FR+ for long, but my first moan was that the lights were very poor and i felt quite dangerous, but that is coming from a Mk5 Golf R32 which had amazing lights.

So after reading up on the form I decided I needed to upgrade to HID's.

This is the kit I purchased off ebay, as recommended by a few other members.

I found them very easy to fit, just two holes to drill and get my fat fingers in some awkward positions and I was done.

THE RESULTS...

Before - NO HID, Headlight beam set very low (std)

After - With HID, Headlight beam set to highest.

The results speak for themselves, a highly recommend upgrade, and cheap!

Just wondering now If I upgrade the full beam bulbs??? Anyone else done this.

Cheers

Dave

You can put hids in the main beam, you think you have good lights now, do that and you can enter a night rally ;)

ps really good pictures :)

I realised how bad my headlights were last night after a trip home.
This convinced me to get some for Christmas,
Dont bother with full beams you'll honestly never use them.

Certainly worth the upgrade.. For £30-40 its bargain!

bloody hell, I put HIDs in and they look nothing like your second pic! Even on highest settings

Perhaps i should check the bulbs are seated correctly!!.... ?

I've got mine on 0 and the highest setting they will go. Was fine for cars in front didn't go higher than there boot line when about 2-3 cars lengths in front of me.

Ok been getting the odd flash, though if I change the internal switch to 1 it lower than I want so think I'm going to readjust from the car.

The high beam now is useless hardly worth havin. Think I'm going to upgrade to hid. Anyone done this?

When I bought my HIDS from HIDS4U (Which I didn't have time to remove before I sold the car to the dealer) they looked just like the second picture.
Trying to find some cheap ones on Ebay now that looked like yours but the only ones I can find are from China

If you want them as high as possible get a friend and another car, park your car on a flat road and with the lights on at night (obviously ;) ) drive past your car, if it gets you right in the eyes and blinds you its too high and every other driver will think your a complete front bottom so just lower them till its reasonable.

The friend is either for the other car or to make sure no one nicks yours while you drive past yours.

Thats the only way IMO that you will get them as high as possible without pissing other drivers off.

And after seeing this last night i did go out and adjust mine up quite a bit, will see how i get on tonight driving home, no one about atm to do what i suggested myself
