Hi folks,

had this problem with my leon Cupra since I bought the car and am looking for some help.

The car idles constantly at around 1200 - 1300 rpm constantly, higher with air con on.

If I lift the accelerator pedal with my foot the idle drops to a more normal level however one rev and it settles again at 1200 - 1300 rpm...

Ive cleaned the throttle body., had a look at the accelerator pedal which all seem fine.
Throttle body adaption has been carried out but still revs high..

A vagcom scan lists this fault

17748 - Camshaft position sensor(G40) / Engine speed sensor (G28) - P1340 - 35-00

Any ideas whats needing replaced?? I didnlt think a cam sensor would cause high revving..

Same happend to me wen i had my clio 182. My throttle cable was sticking all the time. Touch the accelarator up and it idled normal. Worth a try

SOLVED - Stripped the pedal out the car.. cleaned up and sorted a small rubber bung which acts as a stop within the mechanism..

Et voila
