looking at a cupra with 90k on

i want about 200bhp nothing overly major
will the internals be ok on the higher mileage engine?
are they still very strong engines on with high mileage?
do they still tend to sell with the higher mileage engines?
how much is a second hand engine ish?

thanks people

If it looks ok, sounds ok and has a service history it will be fine mine has 88k on the clock and runs like a dream :)

I`ve been in a stg1 mapped cupra with IIRC 140k on the clock, and to say i was suprised was a understatment it pulled alot better than i expected and still felt very solid.

I think it just depends on your luck, technically if its been well looked after it will be fine at higher mileage, esp regular oil changes, Cooled down/warmed up properly. Mine has done 74k and been mapped since before 48kish when i bought it on stage 1 for about 10k, then onto stage 2 for about 10k. Now about 4k or 5k on GT2860 up'd now to 1.5bar of boost and still going strong..touch wood, always been a daily driver too.

Mine was on 93k when I bought it a year ago, on 106k now and I do an oil and filter change every 5k

Will be going hybrid next year, seen these engines going strong on much higher mileage

Mines got 115 000 miles on it with a few little mods. But still going strong.
