Hi,

I have just bought an Altea, 2009 dsg. The advert said it had hill hold control.

I couldn't test it out as there weren't any hills round the dealer.

However at home it does roll back on my drive - I don't have the owners handbook yet, so is there anything I need to do to activate the hill hold control?

Or maybe my car doesn't have it after all - the wife won't be happy!!

It works the following way, when the car is inclined and stopped and you are holding the brake, when you release the brake it is still implied so you don't move for 1-2 second, this is so you can shift into gear and go forward, without going backwards. You don't need to activate anything it is part of the ESP.

Hi

Re Hill Start Aid

This function is only included in vehicles with ESC (ESP)

However Im not sure its fitted to cars with a DSG box.

Thanks for all the advice.

It did seem to work off the handbrake on a hill today, that is it held after I took the handbrake off, and didn't roll back while I waited to put my foot on the accelerator.

But still no joy off the footbrake.

Is it worth taking it back to the dealers? It is still under warranty.

May needs DSG restting via vagcom - it twiddles all the vlaves and sensors to rest it and adjust. Has a long difficult to perform road test (on UK roads anyway )aftwerwards
