Hi.

I've had Jonny for 19 year now. He's an original press release car and I have all the showroom boards with images of him on them & there are lots of press pictures of him on Google etc...

He didn't go to the general public for sake but went to Seat sport UK and has a full cage fitted

Not your average car...

He was recently involved in a minor accident and after a very long 4 months battle with my insurers he's back on the road with a full respray and fresh MOT.

My insurers wanted to write him off for very little soooo... My question is, how do I find the fair value for him? I realise the obvious answer is what someone is prepared to pay but what if I don't want to sell him to find out the answer?!?

There are a number of classic car valuation sites but they are for stock cars in various states of repair.

You have a one of one so those values may not be appropriate.

My suggestion is to try and find a local Classic Car Auction site and see if they offer a valuation service.

Does he need to be classic car age ie 25, in which case I need to wait until next February for classic car valuation...

It's tough when he's a one of one... I'm guessing only an actual auction will find his true value, which obviously can't be done just out of interest (or to provide info back to my insurers - who have been awful to say the least!).

Thanks though!

I checked one site and they quoted 8k for concourse 2003 but again yours is the first. Personally I would phone a few and see if they give valuations (explain why) and see what they say.

No experience I am afraid, just did a Google search for classic car auctions and valuations.
