Hi, I want to update my 2011 Seat Leon Ecomotive Navigation System 2.2 Maps to the latest maps which is May 2015.

But how do I update the maps, I checked on SEAT's website and it goes on about SD CARD SLOT 2 (which I cant seem to find).

Can somebody give me the files for the latest Naviagtion System 2.2 maps and tell me how to install it into my SEAT.

I would prefer using a DVD/CD method which I just insert.

The website is probably talking about the sat nav in the Mk3, as that has two SD card slots.

You can only get map updates from SEAT at a kings random of ~£150-200. They come on a heavily copy-protected SD card that gets locked to the SatNav system the first time it is used so you can't then share the card with other people. You won't find the maps anywhere online to download (not even from dodgy sources) so you either remortgage your house and pay SEAT the asking price or you resign yourself to just running with outdated maps. That said, there may not be any update of the maps you already have loaded so you may already be on the latest maps available for your system.

I am sure that you can download VW maps for free from their website so why do SEAT charge so much? [:@]

Not for the RNS 315 . Only way to update is to go to dealers, drop trousers, bend over and prepare to be, ahem , violated.

For anyone looking like myself recently I Just wanted to give you guys an alternative option for the sat Nav update on an RNS 315. I recently bought a seat Alhambra 2011 and my say Nav was on Western Europe version 1. When I called to check with the dealer they said v 8 was released but it was £148 I thought blimey. It comes in an SD card and the product code is 000051884a. After digging around I found that the RNS 315 is the sat nav on many vw cars including the sharan which is identical to my Alhambra. VW do a maps v8 Western Europe under product code 3aa 051 866 ah. This SD card is £100 which is about £50 less not cheap but still a chicken dinner better off. Checked with seat if it was compatible but they said no. I thought well why not it makes no sense. I bought the card from VW and low and behold on the back it says compatible with seat RNS-315 media system 2.1 and 2.2 including skoda RNS. So put the disc in it assigns the disc to your system for copyright purposes and takes 2 hours to complete. Job done all working on v8. In your face seat. So get the sd card from vw and u can use it to update your maps for any VW seat skoda using rns315 media 2.1 or 2.2 :) hope this helps

I don't think it's ever with messing with the system, with almost certainty eBay listings are pirate copies. The SD cards are assigned to your system so that they can only be used once. It's like pirate games, it may work for a bit but during the game it may crash. It's not worth it. £100 is ok to update the system for the foreseeable future if you're on v1/2

Like I said I bought mine from VW for £100 in vat so there's a £10 saving if you get that one from eBay which is not a guarantee

V8 came out last year, so if you're thinking of updating there's probably a newer version of the maps being released soon.
