If I remember correctly the plastic clips holding them on are likely to break when you try to remove them. Best thing is to buy the bumper strips from the dealer (I think they cost about £16) and get them painted up.
Buy some from a dealer, make sure they are from the base model. Less prepping for the bodyshop due the finish on them. You should save a few quid.
If you take yours off, a tip would be to tape the edges before you prize it away with something to save flaking the paint on the bumper. It will come off, but you have to be a bit rough.
