How good is the Leon sat-nav?

As titled really.

Visited a dealer today almost ready to buy but couldn't really decide on the sat-nav or not. What does the £700 seat one give me that a £250 Garmin wouldn't?

You do also get a full colour screen on the instrument panel rather than the plain white one.

Well if you order before June 30th you can get the tech pack for £500. This includes the navigation system, media system plus, and the led lighting. This is what most of us did! Just check out the seat website, but I'm a bit surprised the dealer didn't offer you this to seal the deal if you were that close to ordering.

He did, however a really annoying thing is that 20 min in an Audi R8 at night & I have a SCREAMING headache so no LED headlights for me (same with see-by LED bike lights)

Is the postcode locator facility any better than older versions? The wife's Exeo (2012 model) is bl88dy annoying as you can only enter in a max of 5 characters from the postcode which is a total pain.

Full postcode but I often get a message saying it doesn't have a street for the postcode I've entered - doesn't cause a problem as it gets me where I want to be, just odd.

Same on the old Media System in the MK2 Leon, bit of a strange message! Probably just a bad translation from German.

Anyway for £500 the LED Headlights, DAB and Nav system are an essential buy and will easily hold their value when you trade the car in. Far nicer than using a TomTom as its fully integrated with the car

Would you please tell something about the navigation's processor performance? Is it fast when calculating the routes or addresses when compared with Tomtom or another navigation devices?

I find it a bit slower than my old TomTom. It doesn't help that it calculates 3 routes for each journey to allow you to pick which one you want.

Just go in to the settings and choose which route you prefer I.E. fast/slow or eco, from then on it will only use that route

Anyone know what mapping data/supplier Seat have used for the satnav?
Also, how up to date is it? MY dealer said the data is updated every time the car is serviced, foc, but read elsewhere that someone had to pay£120 for new maps :S

Many thanks

Hi

I am happy with the sat nav seems to work fine as good as my Tom Tom. It's also pretty quick to change the route when u miss a turning. I also like the lane lane marker which tells which lane to be in on busy motorways etc. it's also handy it shows directions in the dash cluster. Not yet had a problem with it. I was also told maps would be updated when serviced but u have to ask for it doing?? I will find out in a year.

Cheers

Thanks for the review. Would you please make comment about the poi section ? Are there really enough poi when compared with Tomtom? Thanks
