Alrighty, just thought i'd ask this as a quicky. How much soot is normal kicking out from the exhuast. Just that a few of my mates and work mates who have been behind me while driving say that it kicks out rather alot.. i can see it in my rear view mirror too...

thanks

Is it standard or mapped / tuning box? As standard it shouldn't soot very much, unless it hasn't had a good blast recently. It's surprising how much gets trapped in the exhaust unless you cane it occasionally.

Try a few spins up a local dual carriageway, planting your foot in 2nd & 3rd and taking it round to 4500rpm. Do that 4 or 5 times will clear things out a bit :D

it's standard.. it's on the motorway everyday, but like you say it doesn't get much of a boot in 2nd or 3rd... only 5th and 6th. I did give it a good welly this morning 1st -3rd.. seemed to help abit. Plus the exhaust is really dirty.

Mines done that a few times, an I love it. More soot the better in my opinion. I wouldnt be worried by what you think is excess soot. Get it remapped or slot a bigger turbo on, and you can enjoy the soot more.
