I've got decent tyres, perelli's ?! plenty of thread (sorry I don't know much about tyres etc)

If this is how it is in the wet, i'm so dreading the snow! it's going to be a COOOOLD few months

From experience on my LCR; pirellis are crap, especially at the first sign of anything moist letalone wet (they were p zero rosso's). Sounds stupid but you'll usually have less traction when the roads are moist, it's only rained a bit or it's the 1st time its rained in a while because of all the grease and crap on the roads! Michelins are the dogs! Also you mite want to think about putting some winter tyres on soon if it concerns you, their a he'll of a lot better than any summer tyre in the wet, icy, snowy and even dry (when under approx 8 Celsius) conditions!

drive to the conditions and it wont be a problem.

My LCR isnt a handfull in the wet.

Totally agree, just drive to the conditions... it's as simple as that! If you're still struggling with traction then you've either got rubbish tyres or you need to learn throttle control. My LCR is stage 1 and i have no issues what so ever with traction, it's the safest car I've had in fact. Just don't use the throttle like it's a button and you're be fine.... remember the throttle is analogue not digital! ;)

yep, my last car was an MR2 turbo, no traction control, mid engine and rear wheel drive.

never had a problem with that in the wet, snow or ice.

Just goes to show it is possible!! :cartman:

i knew this would lure the braggers in.......

My car before the Cupra was an EVO 3 roughly 320bhp, before that Pulsar GTI-R, the list can go on.....

Nothing about my driving style or experience, been passed and driving since I was 17, im 29 now. Come from a history of powerful road cars, Cupra was a all in one car for, an impulse buy.

I'm merely commenting on my experiences with it in the rain

The good thing about my old rover, had such a lack of power you could have your foot to the floor round a corner wet or dry and if anything it stabilised the car!

are you sure you want to brag about owning a Nova? :wtf:

I love novae :D so yea ever raced a 2.0 turbo nova?? Not much of a race I can assure you ;) I will one day own one for a track car :)

nope cant say i have, sadly tho this has left a gaping hole in my life for which i need weekly therapy sessions.

however i would probably be laughing too much to work the pedals in my car let alone "race" one.

ffs.

Mate had a 300 bhp nova was ok when he got traction at 60 mph

Yea that's a big issue lol my mate has a 2.2 gt23 turbid nova pushing 340 bhp an 360 lb  but he struggles to get it down :( same as another mate with 450 bhp in his mk3 astra that some of you saw at trax ;) that's fast

the best handling car i've had was sadly a Citroen AX GT, it only had 100bhp but it only weighed as much as a packet of crisps (in fact a packet of crisps was probably made of material thicker than the body of the ax) :D, it was lowered 60+mm all round and had 195/45/14 tyres (15's were too big for the arches, without mods). Handled like a go-kart. The damn thing was too low geared though, kept hitting the red line in 5th gear (had to add a rev limiter to stop the damn thing over revving).
